OUR IMPACT REACH

Since expanding to California in 2023, the PIC Foundation has reached more than 7,602 Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals, and the count is growing. We Build Bridges and Break Barriers every day, delivering advocacy, accessible programs, and community-driven support that meet the Deaf+ community exactly where they are.

Turning rights into action for California’s Deaf community.

Too many Deaf individuals were never taught the protections they already have under the ADA, IDEA, and Section 504 — not because they don’t care, but because no one ever explained it in ASL. B.R.I.D.G.E. changes that.

Through this Deaf-led program, B.R.I.D.G.E. delivers accessible rights education, peer leadership, and real advocacy tools that empower Deaf individuals and families to claim their rights and break down barriers on their own terms.

What B.R.I.D.G.E. Delivers

  • 6 ASL-accessible rights webinars covering the ADA, employment, healthcare, education, media access, and civic engagement
  • 5 Deaf Peer Advocates trained and certified as trusted community mentors
  • 200 Self-Advocacy Toolkits in ASL, English, and Spanish, with practical templates and step-by-step guides
  • One-on-one advocacy support to help community members request accommodations, navigate systems, and assert their rights
  • A civic inclusion event promoting Deaf participation in public life

The heart of B.R.I.D.G.E. is advocacy — empowering Deaf individuals to build bridges where barriers once stood.

Building Bridges. Breaking Barriers.

The ‘Silent Plates’ Initiative
Silent Plates is a cornerstone program of the PIC Foundation, developed by our Founder and Executive Director to meet the unique and pressing needs of Deaf+ children and their families across California.

At its heart, Silent Plates is about more than food. It’s about dignity, connection, and belonging. By recognizing the specific barriers Deaf communities face, this program goes beyond the plate; it delivers hope, one family at a time.

Your support puts food on the table and hope in the home. Every gift helps us reach another Deaf+ child and family across California. Donate today and become part of the Silent Plates story.
PIC Me Up Mobility
The PIC Foundation proudly introduces ‘PIC Me Up Mobility’, an accessible micro-transit program built to remove transportation barriers for Deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals across Los Angeles County. Launching Summer 2027, it will provide safe, reliable, and affordable rides to medical appointments, work, school, and essential services, connecting the Deaf+ community to the places that matter most.

Be the first to know when we roll out. Stay informed and help us drive change, one ride at a time.
